Nascida em 16.08.1933, em Los Angeles, para viver o personagem na TV, Julie, que fora bailarina antes de ser atriz, desenhou um traje que a sensualizava ainda mais, vestida em uma lycra brilhante como purpurina. Completava o look com um colar de ouro, um cinturão dourado e botas de salto alto com pinos de metal. Nos quadrinhos, usando um esvoaçante vestido de seda e portando um chicote, tornou-se uma das personagens mais sexi do setor.
Por muito tempo, Bob Kane – o criador do “Batman" e de grande parte da patota da do “Homem Morcego”, junto com Bill Finger – procurou por visual e o nome ideais para a personagem. Após alguns episódios como “The Cat”, surgiu a Selina Kyle, proprietária de lojas de animais, que torna-se ladra e muda de nome, para “Catwoman”.
