DOMINGO É DIA DE MULHER BONITA - MADRE ANA MARIA, A MULHER DO ANO-65

Corria 1965 e o São Paulo Women´s Club elegeu a madre Ana Maria de Lourdes a “Mulher do  Ano”. Pela primeira vez, ofereceria um banqueta à homenageada. No dia, uma cadeira vazia, ao lado da primeira dama do Estado, Leonor de Barros, aguardava pela ocupante.

O tempo passava e nada de a homenageada chegar. As mulheres convidadas para o evento já se impacientavam, com a demora. Motivo: para  a madre comparecer ao Pinheiros, o clube onde  se daria a homenagem, seria preciso uma licença especial da Cúria Metropolitana paulistana. O bispo diocesano só permitiu por que a homenagem levava em conta o trabalho da religiosa, no Hospital São Paulo, como assistente de neurologia. Então, a madre Ana Maria compareceu e foi recebida com demorados aplausos.

 Pertencente à Ordem Irmã Franciscana das Missionárias de Maria, a religiosa vivia no claustro. Nascida em São Paulo, ela fora educada no Rio de Janeiro.  A sua ordem prioriza os mais pobres, desde 6 de janeiro em 1877, quando surgiu durante na cidade indiana de Ootacamund.

As Missionárias de Maria são mais de sete mil, de 80 nacionalidades, atuando em mais de 70 países. No Brasil, as primeiras chegaram em 1925 e foram para o Amazonas.

Pois é! Enquanto alguns brasileiros eleitos representantes do povo recebem propinas e enriquecerem-se, ilegalmente, há mulheres que usam a pobreza para enriquecer, socialmente, o país.

 Belonging to the Order Franciscan Sister of the Missionaries of Mary, the nun lived in the cloister. Born in São Paulo, she had been educated in Rio de Janeiro. His order prioritizes the poorest, since January 6 in 1877, when it emerged during the Indian city of Ootacamund.
