HISTÓRIA DA HISTÓRIA - TEREZA HERRERA

Aconteceu no 16 de junho de 1957.  Depois de conquistar, na França,  o Torneio de Paris, o Vasco da Gama foi à Espanha ganhar o Torneio Tereza Herrera, tradicional competição amistosa de verão, na cidade de La Coruña. 

Esta disputa foi  criada em 1946, para arrumar a grana da construção do Hospital de Dolores, no final do século 18, pela religiosa Teresa Margarita Herrera y Posada. Com o passar das pugnas, a coisa foi ficando muito popular, principalmente por reunir grandes clubes de vários países.

O local escolhido para as partidas foi o Estádio Riazor, com rodadas em dois dias consecutivos, quase sempre na segunda quinzena de agosto e com presença garantida do Deportivo La Coruña, por ser da terra. 

Vavá valorizou vitória

A conquista vascaína teve gols de Vavá, aos 23 minutos do primeiro tempo, e aos 34 do segundo, e de Válter Marciano, aos 24 da etapa inicial, e aos 28 da fase final. Foi a 12ª edição da Taça TH, com a Turma da Colina treinada por Martim Francisco e atuando com: Carlos Alberto; Dario, Viana, Orlando e Ortunho; Laerte e Válter; Sabará, Livinho, Vavá e Pinga.

It took place on June 16, 1957. After winning the Paris Tournament in France, Vasco da Gama went to Spain to win the Tereza Herrera Tournament, a traditional summer friendly competition, in the city of La Coruña.

This dispute was created in 1946 to clear up the construction of Dolores Hospital in the late 18th century by the religious Teresa Margarita Herrera y Posada. Over the years, things have become very popular, especially because they bring together big clubs from various countries.

The venue for the matches was the Riazor Stadium, with rounds on two consecutive days, almost always in the second half of August and with a guaranteed presence from Deportivo La Coruña, as it is from the ground.

The Vasca conquest had goals from Vavá, at 23 minutes of the first half, and at 34 of the second, and from Válter Marciano, at 24 of the initial stage, and 28 of the final phase. It was the 12th edition of the TH Cup, with the Hill Class trained by Martim Francisco and performing with: Carlos Alberto; Dario, Viana, Orlando and Ortunho; Laerte and Válter; Sabará, Livinho, Vavá and Pinga.
