The attacker Almir "Pernambuquinho" and the defender and captain Hideraldo Luís Bellini were among the greatest idols of the Basque fans of the 1950s, when the boys won the Rio titles in 1956 and 1958.
Bellini even participated in the 1952 campaign, the last of the "Expresso da Vtória", the then unbeatable São Januário team. At the time, he was coming and only participated in three games, since the rear had Harold and Ely of the Amparo as two absolute titular sheriffs. But during the state-1956 title campaign, he participated in all 22 games.
For his part, Almir Albuquerque was one of the main names in the achievement of the State-1958, scoring five goals and entering 13 of the 25 matches - Bellini played 22.
For the merits of these two Basque men, the "Revista do Esporte" made several covers with both, to attract fans of the "Turma da Colina". It worked - as on the lawns.
