Here he appears alongside the red-black Evaristo de Macedo, who was one of the great flamenguistas attackers between 1953 and 1957. Difference between the two? Pinga played for the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland, while Evaristo, who had everything to be Pele's partner in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, was not because the club he was defending at the time, the Barcelona club, did not release him. Both Ginga and Evaristo were later coaches of their clubs. Evaristo was also the supervisor and trained the cross-men.
